|The Coachmen were one of the Midwest's top Rock Bands between 1964 and 1968.
They played about 900 shows in 18 states including more than 100 at Sandy's Escape in Omaha--a Rock landmark. The Band released six singles that all charted throughout the Midwest including Mr. Moon, the first #1 Rock record ever for a Nebraska Band.
The Band formed with six members in Lincoln, NE in April of 1964 and built a huge following in six months playing high school and city sponsored events. They relocated to Omaha in June of 1965 after winning the KOIL Battle of The Bands in February of that year. They toured city auditoriums, armories, nightclubs, fairs and other venues throughout 18 states--primarily Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota--over the next four years while recording six charted singles. They had a monthly Television show on Omaha KETV in 1967. After touring its final year together as Professor Morrison's Lollipop and releasing its final single, the Band broke up in 1969. In 1997, five original members reformed to play a reunion show in Lincoln NE as part of induction into the Nebraska Music Hall Of Fame. The same five members recorded their only CD, Still Rockin' in 1999. The Band played five shows in NE in the Spring of 2000--their final performances to date. Several Coachmen singles are on a variety of Compilation CDs. More Band info is available on www.thecoachmen.com.
